Looking ahead

What we learned / things to watch

Both Newcastle picks found plenty late. He’s Our Cracker also overcame racing keenly: that habit alone is not enough to expect a horse to fade. Future checks need to give its ability to finish strongly due weight.

Finishing position needs context. Robert d’Ores weakened late, while Hidden Gift improved into fifth. A beaten horse that finishes well deserves a different follow-up from one that tires.
